AACPS Spring 2021 Details – all virtual class schedules change starting February 2, 2021

We want to remind all FSES families to read, in detail, the information that AACPS has put out about the Spring 2021 school changes with a possible option to return to the building within a hybrid schedule.

FSES PTA General Meeting, Wednesday, November 11, 2020 – Special Presentation from Mrs. Stuart, FSES School Counselor

Please join us for our FSES PTA meeting this Wednesday, November 11th at 6:30pm to learn more about the classroom-based program known as Second Step. Our school counselor, Lori Stuart will provide an overview of how this social and emotional learning curriculum gives children in Pre-K through 5th grade the tools to excel in and out of the classroom. Families will discover how they can use the skills and language of Second Step at home!

Virtual Halloween Slideshow Update

FSES PTA is still getting pictures of our kiddo’s in their costumes and we want to make sure everyone that sends in a picture is included in the slideshow. Please be patient as we are still gathering pictures and will get the slideshow out as soon as possible. With that, we will extend the deadline for pictures through this Sunday, November 1st.

Thanks for your understanding. And don’t forget to still send pin your pictures of your Pumpkin Decorations, too!

Re-Opening of AACPS Schools Fall 2020

Hello Four Seasons Families:

We wanted to reach out about the important decision that all AACPS families of elementary school children have to make by midnight this Thursday, October 15th.  Make sure you submit your response about the learning style you want for your child(ren): Hybrid, Virtual through January or Virtual through the end of the school year.  If you do not submit a response for each of your children there is a default that AACPS will assign your child(ren).  Please make sure to submit a response for each of your elementary age children.AACPS has information on their website, please make sure to go through and read all the details.  Details have changed since it was first released last week, so keep checking to see if there are any additional changes.  https://www.aacps.org/oct2020familyreopening.

There are a lot of different social media sites relaying information, please read and ask questions, but please make sure to get the facts.We know this is a stressful situation for all families.  We want to make sure you feel supported in making the best decision for your family and child(ren).  First and foremost we hope everyone is able to stay positive though this process.  We should expect this time of transition to be bumpy, a bit messy and difficult.  We can do this, we’ve already proven to get through other tough times, and we can do this, too.  Our children truly are amazing, they have shown such strength, determination and overall patience with virtual learning.  Our teachers have proven yet again that they are outstanding. They have stepped up each time with all the changes thrown at them and hands down have knocked it out of the park with their professionalism, their intelligence, and their ability to multitask like we’ve never seen.

Can we ask you to do something?  Please have your children send a thank you note (email) to their teachers.  As we all know, a thank you goes a long way to brighten someone’s day!

The FSES PTA would like to know if the FSES families would like to have a call (via ZOOM) on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00pm to discuss the three options. We would have it the night before the decision must be chosen; THURSDAY, October 15th.

We will have a call if there is a need. We don’t want to add more stress, but we want to offer an opportunity to talk about options. We can’t guarantee answers will be provided. #aacps #FSESStrong. Please respond on our Facebook page.

Backpack and Supply Pick-up Information

Congratulations on completing our first week of Virtual Learning! It was a bit bumpy but each day it will get a little easier! Four Seasons ES will not record virtual classes until Tuesday. Please fill out survey if you have not! Please email teacher if you have questions. AACPS put out new guidelines, so we will start on Tuesday.

We’re excited to announce that backpacks with school supplies and Math Manipulatives have arrived! We have scheduled the following days/times for pick-up.

Last Name: A-F on Tuesday, September 15th 8:15-9:00 AM and 3-5 PM

Last Name: G-P on Wednesday, September 16th 8:15-9:00 AM and 3-5 PM

Last Name: Q-Z on Thursday, September 17th 8:15-9:00 AM and 3-5 PM

To follow Safety Guidelines and meet the needs of over 700 students, we have assigned pick-up days by last name alphabetical order. We ask that you only come on your assigned day, as (staff will only have items for the last names assigned to that corresponding day).Please follow the directions below to help us with a smooth distribution.Stay in your car, wear your mask, and drive around the bus loop to the front of the school (not into the parking lot).Bring a sign with student name (s) and grade(s). If you have not picked up your Math Book (grades K-5), please indicate with “Math Book” on your sign. Hand your sign to a staff member when you are greeted. Bring a pen to complete the Student Emergency Card and Code of Student forms. It will take a few minutes for each family to fill out the paperwork.Please be patient with staff and FSES families! We have over 700 Backpacks to distribute!

Back-to-School Night: Thursday, September 17th is virtual back to school night. We will start with a virtual PTA meeting at 6 PM. The link for the PTA meeting is https://meet.google.com/wbd-fxrh-fiy or dial: +​1​ ​7​5​4​-​2​1​7​-​7​7​6​4. Classroom teachers will email you their google meet link. First session is at 6:30 PM. If you have multiple children, there is a second session at 7 PM. Cultural arts, ELL, and Speech will have sessions as well, so you can visit them for either session via their google meet link. Administration will stay on the PTA link until 7 PM if you would like to visit us!
